BLOG UPDATE: Scared To Sell Your Home Right Now

Craftsmanship in Fayetteville NC

This afternoon I went to show houses to a buyer that I have been working with for several months.  We were going to meet at the first house.  It was on Marsh Lake Rd.  I was ok until I got to the sandy dirt road.  It was pouring down rain and there was water standing on the road.  I'm not scared of dirt roads, but I drove for about 2 miles down this dirt road before I got to the house.  It was not isolated, there were nice houses scattered around.  I didn't even realize there was a lake there until I arrived at the house.  It is a nice looking house on the exterior, but it was the interior that was beautiful.  The owners were home and I asked them to give us a tour.  They had built the house themselves in 1982 and he is a superb craftsman.  The house is almost 3000 sq feet and there is simple, custom wood trim everywhere, around the windows, the door frames and even the chair rail.  The house was beautifully updated.  Over the years, they have added, remodeled and updated and everything was lovingly done by hand.  There is a half, walk out basement that he uses as his workroom.  A wonderful large deck on the back overlooks the little lake.  I look at a lot of houses and I see a lot of them in different states of neglect and disrepair.  It was a very refreshing afternoon, enjoying the company of a couple that takes such pride in quality craftsmanship.  Let me know if you are in the market of a remarkable house and you don't mind living down a long dirt road and I'll introduce you to a worthy house.
